FAIR JUDICIARY OATH ANNOUNCEMENT October 1, 2003 After observing the slow, painful deterioration of the judicial nominations process for the past several years, it is readily apparent that a vocal minority is determined to obstruct the President's judicial nominees at all costs. If the stated reason for the obstruction could pass the straight face test because it was based upon a record of dangerous judicial activism, or a case of moral turpitude, or even an issue of temperament ill-suited to the federal bench, then perhaps it would be more understandable. Instead, men and women of outstanding character and experience, duly nominated by their President, have been held in a nominations process akin to purgatory because of an ideological litmus test imposed by those who seek to hijack the federal courts for their own extreme leftist agenda. The cost? At the very least, a nominations process hopelessly in stalemate. At worst, the very heart and soul of the Constitution itself. To that end, voters need to know what they can expect of their elected Senators once they reach those venerable chambers. In the coming weeks, the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary will launch an oath for all Senate candidates running for office in 2004. We will announce the date of the launch and the language of the actual oath very soon so check back often! Click here to view the Fair Judiciary Oath Related Press Releases:
