(WASHINGTON) A group of extreme liberal organizations today announced an advertising campaign under the banner name of the "Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary." Ralph Neas of the People for the American Way is one of the ringleaders of this effort.

"That s it. I m starting a group called the "Real People for the Real American Way," said Kay Daly, president of the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary. "I don t know whether to be flattered or flabbergasted. They support obstruction, we support a fair nominations process. They support judicial activism and social engineering through the courts and we support judges who will apply the law as it is written. We could not be more diametrically opposed to their radical agenda.

In the press conference today at the National Press Club, speakers touted the strength of the coalition supporting constitutionalist judicial nominees.

"Clearly, the left has seen the same polling data that we have," said Daly. "In one recent Zogby poll, Americans in both red states and blue states clearly believe that the methods deployed by the left to unconstitutionally obstruct judicial nominees is unfair. But truth has never been a deterrent for the left. In their world, 'is' is not 'is' and obstruction is not obstruction. The American people will quickly see the generous portion of smoke, mirrors and rhetorical contortions displayed in their ad campaign and dismiss them out of hand."

The Coalition for a Fair Judiciary has launched a project to challenge all Senate candidates to take the "Fair Judiciary Oath" which calls for a "fair and simple up or down vote for nominees" duly nominated by the President and "reported out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

"This week, several more filibusters will be deployed against well-qualified nominees," said Daly. "We are heading toward double digit filibusters rapidly. Clearly, the Left needs to explain their unconstitutional obstruction or suffer the wrath of the American public."
